The Europa-Center is located near the underground stations Zoologischer Garten, Kurfürstendamm and Wittenbergplatz.
Its striking skyscraper with the large, rotating Mercedes star on the roof can already be seen from afar. Built from 1963 to 1965, it is one of the city's oldest department stores, and is now a listed building. It soon became a symbol of West Berlin right next to the Memorial Church. On 10.000 m² with approx. 100 shops one you will find a wide-ranging offer including fashion and jewelry shops, shoe and sport article shops, the largest store of the electronics chain “Saturn”, magazine and tobacco shops as well as an exchange office. Thanks to the architecture, the visit to the Europa Center offers a very special shopping experience in the style of the 70s. A highlight is the water clock in the center of the building, a chronometer of 12 large and 30 flattened small glass balls, which extends over three floors. In front of the main entrance is also the beautiful Globe Fountain. For a stroll into the near past of West Berlin, the Europa Center is the ideal place to go.
