The gardens of the world berlin welcome the long-awaited spring with the annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
In Japan, the cherry blossom is considered as a symbol of transience and beauty because it blooms only for a few days.
During the "Hanami", which means "looking at flowers", the Japanese gather under the pink cherry blossoms and extensively celebrate the spring. This tradition has long become popular in Berlin as well, so this year there will again be a comprehensive insight into Japanese, Korean and Chinese culture. From 12 to 5 pm visitors can look forward to a broad entertainment and stage program. You can picnic under the cherry blossom trees, stroll or linger. Several stalls offer numerous treats and craftsmanship from Asia. Meanwhile, the countless cosplayers you see on every corner have become an integral part of the cherry blossom festival. A peculiar climax is the cosplayer competition, in which the most authentic and beautiful costume is presented and later awarded.
