To make it clear, we have a huge passion for cafes, and try to discover new ones as often as possible,
always looking for original and cozy places. Fortunately, we live in the largest city in Germany, so there are enough cafes to cater for the rest of our lives with coffee and cake. The cafes in Berlin boast with their great variety, and it is difficult to choose the best among them. However, there are a couple of places we always like to visit again and recommend to friends. So here are our personal Top 5 Cafés in Berlin.
5th Place: Silo Coffee
We starts with a rather fancy café. Here you will be served only in English, as the owners of this café are Australians, and have brought with them the famous art of coffee brewing from Melbourne. In the heart of Friedrichshain, this shop is very stylish and minimalistic, the atmosphere very young, alternative and international. The coffee is amazing, and the highlight here is definitely the avocado toast!

4th Place: Cinnamon & Sugar
The List goes on with a beautiful view, because the coffee house Zimt & Zucker is located directly at the Spree river. You can either sit inside the bright interior, with a twenties charms, or simply sit down on the terrace and spend a sunny time there. As the name suggests, it is very sweet here, but there is also a large breakfast selection with various side dishes. The portions are really big and the service is nice and polite. Only the view is worth a visit, but the delicious and high-quality food is the icing on the cake. My recommendation: the Kaiserschmarrn and the Cinnamon chocolate, a pleasure!

3rd Place: Café Ora
One of the coolest locations on this list is the Ora. This place was converted from a former pharmacy and is now a popular café in the middle of Kreuzberg. The special thing about this place really is the atmosphere. A pleasant subdued lighting and beautiful old pharmacy cabinets on the walls give an unexpected cozy atmosphere. Even the dishes and the menus are kept in a medical style. In addition to the cool atmosphere they also serve delicious food here. The Ora offers various organic products and classics such as: Pastrami bread or homemade cakes. Especially the hazelnut cake is absolutely recommendable!

2nd Place: Green Tea Café Mamecha
The Mamecha comes in second place. Because of our close contact with the Japanese culture, of course, the best Japanese Café Berlin has to offer can not be missing on our list. There is something about this easygoing and relaxed atmosphere the Japanese have a knack for, which you can enjoy in this cafe as well. The interior is authentic, you take your shoes off and sit down at a low table. The service perfectly represents the Japanese politeness, and at the counter there is really everything the green tea heart desires. From matcha cheesecake and matcha ice cream to matcha cookies and matcha rice cake, really everything you need is there. The Matcha-Latte tastes delicious by the way!

1st Place: The Rausch Chocolate Café
Our favorite cafe must be the luxurious but still affordable café Rausch, which is located above the Rausch Chocolate House, next to the Gendarmenmarkt. In addition to a menu with many high-quality dishes, this café mainly attracts its visitors with a selection of chocolate tarts, which makes the hearts of all chocolate lovers beat faster. For 5 € you get one of about 10 different tarts, which can hardly be surpassed in finesse and subtlety, not to mention the taste, which will blow you away. The hot chocolate, made from own chocolate production, is the best chocolate I ever tasted. In addition there is the stunning view of the Gendarmenmarkt. What more could you ask for?
