The “BERLIN – ATONAL” festival takes place in the former heating station in the center of Berlin since 2013.
The station was built between 1960 and 1964 to supply people with heating to their houses in winter.
The house was empty and without use until the famous techno club “Tresor” moved in, in 2006. It was Dimitri Hegemann who discovered the building and made some constructions so that his club could move on.
In the last years the whole area got reconstructed and expanded and is nowadays a pretty venue for events and expositions.
From 28 August to 1 September the festival “Berlin ATONAL” will take place in the same building. It´s a festival dedicated to experimental music, video installation art and media experiments. It´s expecting more than 100 artists from different domains like media tecniques, music, acoustic arts, painting, animation among others.
