The Nikolaikirche in Berlin

The Nikolaikirche is located within the Nikolaiviertel (Nikolai-Quarter), the oldest residential area of Berlin. With its medieval streets, numerous restaurants and pubs it is among the most popular sightseeings for Berliners and tourists.

The Nikolaikirche is the oldest church in Berlin. It was built in 1230 until 1250 and is now under monumental protection. In World War II the church was destroyed to its foundation and remained ruined for many years to come.
