The Deutsche Oper in Berlin (German opera) also serves a delicious jazz breakfast

The Deutsche Oper is, in addition to the Komsiche Oper and the State Opera, the largest of the three Berlin opera houses. It was founded at the end of the 20th century and built with a modern program and without boxes, but with good seats for all spectators. A massive outer wall to the Bismarck street in Berlin-Charlottenburg, on which the building is located, completely protects the auditorium from the street noise.

Inside, almost 2,000 visitors can take a seat in a very simple, yet graceful hall. As far as architecture goes, opinions differ: "sober, monumental, dry or imposing" are mentioned to describe the character. However, concerning the quality of the stage productions everyone agrees: The Deutsche Oper can compete with the biggest in the opera industry. While the architecture of the building focuses on the essentials, the program focuses on the "great" repertoire of the 19th century, and maintains old romantics such as Richard Strauss, Wagner, Verdi and Puccini. The choir of the Deutsche Oper has also been voted "choir of the year" three times in a row. Singer, orchestra and ballet therefore offer the highest quality and can be enjoyed with digital synchronous translation and breathtaking stage technology. There is also a delicious lunch menu in the restaurant of the Deutsche Oper, and at the beginning of each month a jazz breakfast is held on Sunday morning. Excellent food - ideal for the preparation or follow-up of an opera visit. Berlin also offers many other cultural attractions. For tickets please click here.
