The hunting lodge Glienicke is part of the world cultural heritage of the castles and parks of Potsdam and BerlinUNESCO and is one of the oldest palaces in the area.
The occupant today is the Sozialpädagogisches Fortbildungsinstitut Berlin-Brandenburg. In the west wing of the palace, the Hofgärtnermuseum, unique in Europe, is dedicated to the life and work of this profession. Exhibits from three centuries document the broad spectrum of their theoretical and practical skills. In addition, concerts take place regularly in the castle, which can be enjoyed in a unique atmosphere.

The Glienicke hunting lodge is located on the border between Berlin and Brandenburg on Glienicker Lake, directly opposite Babelsberg Castle. An excursion here should be combined with a visit to Potsdam. Go on a castle tour or simply stroll through the old town.

Brief history of the Glienicke Hunting Lodge
The castle was built in 1682-93 by Charles Philippe Dieussart for the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg.
It was then extended in the French Baroque style, served as a military hospital, was used as an oilcloth and wallpaper factory and in 1832 Wilhelm von Türk turned the castle into an orphanage. Prince Karl of Prussia had the castle rebuilt for his son Friedrich Karl in 1859. After 1919 the palace began to decay. After that the owners changed several times. In November 2005 the reconstruction began and on 23 August 2006 the topping-out ceremony was celebrated.
After several disagreements, the renovation was completed at the end of October 2012. The hunting lodge is located in a dreamlike park, whereby the interior of the castle fascinates by the "Red Hall" and the deep blue library. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Palaces and Gardens of Potsdam and Berlin.
